Lake Amistad continues to fish consistently but the big bite, a 5+lber, is still tough to find. The lake level is rising slowly and sits at 59 ft low. Water temps are in the low 80’s. The most productive time to fish continues to me in the mornings until around noon.
Current Patterns -
Shallow: Small swimbaits like the new Optishad from Oprimum biats and slender topwaters like the iMA Skimmer produce around rocky bluffs and main lake flats near deep water in the mornings. A Shaky head with small worms are also productive around shallow bluff ends.
Mid-Depth: I have been cranking the iMA Pinjack 200 in drains for some quick action when bait is present. Letting a football jig slide down quick sloping rock is also productive in the 10-15 ft depth zone. Keep you offerings small for best results.
Deep: Carolina rigged plastics dragged slowly across the bottom around main lake points will produce well throughout the day when the sun is high.
Tight Lines,
Kurt
